RPS ‘Here for you’ video proves very popular

 

THE Royal Pharmaceutical Society’s (RPS’s) recently launched ‘Here for you’ video, which promotes the work of pharmacists in patient care has already received 100,000 organic shares on social media, and is the most retweeted post the RPS has ever had.

The aim of the video is to recognise and promote the diverse range of roles pharmacists play in patient care, and “demonstrate the great job they do”, Neal Patel, Head of Corporate Communications at the RPS told Pharmacy in Practice. Feedback from members had revealed that this was a message that they wanted to be shared.

The video features a number of patient stories where they had been helped by pharmacists, which was an important element: “Patients think pharmacists are fabulous and appreciate the work they do,”  said Neal, which meant all pharmacists should have pride in their work.

Not only is the video intended to be a morale boost for the profession, but it serves to highlight the contribution of pharmacy to key stakeholders, and it had already received positive reactions.

Importantly, comments on Facebook about the video from pharmacy users had also shown that profession was making a difference to people’s’ lives.

Case studies which describe the diverse ways in which pharmacists contribute to patient care were now on the RPS website and would also form part of this campaign.
