John McAnaw to chair RPS Scotland board for 3rd term

JOHN McAnaw has been confirmed as Chair of the Royal Pharmaceutical Society (RPS) Scottish Pharmacy Board and recently returned board member, Johnathan Burton, as Vice-Chair, at today’s meeting of the new board.

David Thomson will continue as the SPB’s Assembly representative.

John Commented:  “I am delighted and humbled to have received the support from my colleagues for a third term as Chair of the Scottish Pharmacy Board. It has been a privilege serving over the past two years, but I am clear that I want our professional body to achieve more for its members and the wider profession. I will continue to strengthen the Scottish identity within RPS in a way that is clearly visible to Scottish members, and clearly demonstrate what is being delivered for Scotland’s pharmacists.

“We are facing some significant pieces of work both in Scotland and across Great Britain and I will continue to ensure that the Board considers the implications of Board decisions on England and Wales (and vice versa), and that GB-wide policy and advice reflects the Scottish perspective. Where there is imbalance, I will challenge it and champion a joined-up approach.”
