THE International Pharmaceutical Federation (FIP) has appointed Dr Catherine Duggan as its new chief executive officer, as of June 1.
Dr Duggan, who is currently director of professional development at the Royal Pharmaceutical Society (RPS), said: “I’m delighted and honoured to take up the position of CEO at FIP. I look forward to building on the great work of FIP leaders, past and present. To advance pharmacy worldwide, we will work through established partnerships with the World Health Organization and forge new partnerships at the global level to benefit the profession and the public” .
FIP President Dr Carmen Peña commented: “I’m happy that our colleague Catherine Duggan joins FIP as our new CEO. Her excellent career so far makes her worthy of this tough but amazing position. Catherine will surely represent, with honesty, loyalty and energy, the values of our federation, fulfilling our objective of making FIP even stronger, bigger and more efficient.”
