The term Parkinsonism refers to a range of conditions that display similar symptoms to Parkinson’s disease.
Idiopathic Parkinsonism does not have a known cause and it the most common type.
Vascular Parkinsonism develops when strokes occur whereby movement is affected.
Drug induced Parkinsonism happens after the use of certain drugs, like medication used to treat schizophrenia which blocks dopamine.
This leads to less dopamine action = Parkinson’s like symptoms.
