Helen Garrood (GP pharmacist)
Be meticulous in your work. Check, re-check and check again any advice you give. Never be too proud to admit that research is needed beforehand or too much in a hurry to be 100% sure before speaking. Doctors will prescribe based on your say so; you share the responsibility to get this right. For the 99 pieces of gold standard clinical advice you have provided, you’ll forever be remembered for that one dodgy decision. In spite of my salient and sobering words, it’s a fantastic job and a real privilege to be at the beginning of a patient’s prescribing journey.
