Welcome to the Pharmacy in Practice online journal club results. Pharmacy is a scientific profession. One of the key skills required in this area is the skill of critical appraisal. If you are not familiar with the considerations involved in the process of critical appraisal or would like more support on how to read a scientific paper you may want to click here and read the excellent articles by Trish Greenhalgh.
As part of this feature, we aim to publish research conducted by pharmacists across the UK. We need your help to conduct a peer review on these pieces of research. Here’s how it works;
- Read the piece of research critically.
- Answer the three simple questions designed to elicit your opinions and your feedback on the research.
- We will anonymously collate the comments and then we will publish these comments in a results article in the coming weeks.
The aim of this feature is to bring research off the page, help you contribute your expertise for the good of others, learn from others who complete the same process and finally hopefully inspire you to get involved with research in your own practice.
We posed three simple questions and were grateful to receive the following comments from readers to help critically appraise the poster above.
