Bullying in any walk of life can be subtle or overt. Many of us will have had experience of bullying in our personal or professional lives. I want this dilemma to help you reflect on what bullying really is.
As with everything I write I cannot make the decision for you or draw a conclusion that may or may not be there but I can shine a light on some of the issues.
The anonymous information gathered by taking part in the polls throughout this dilemma will form the basis of a research poster that I will present later in the year at the joint Community Pharmacy Scotland/Strathclyde University research event. Bullying is one of the most horrible things that can occur in our personal or professional life. If you have been affected I invite you to get in touch with our trusted colleagues at Pharmacist Support.
Note: the purpose of this dilemma is to present a case that may occur in practice; for you to consider what you would do if faced with it, and to encourage you to reflect on your decision. The possible answers are examples and are not an exhaustive list of all the potential solutions.
