PharmaDoctor (owned by Escripts Marketing Ltd), and the Encephalitis Society (Registered Charity No. 1087843) are pleased to announce a long-term partnership whereby PharmaDoctor becomes the official sponsor of the Encephalitis Society’s online travel health guidance portal.
The Encephalitis Society is launching a new section on its website to increase travellers’ awareness of infectious disease risks when travelling abroad, including Japanese encephalitis, Tick-borne encephalitis and Rabies.
PharmaDoctor will provide website visitors access to a free personalised online travel health consultation with details of an independent, nation-wide network of convenient pharmacy-based travel clinics, where users can receive further advice and vaccinations where protection is required.
The partnership announced today will enable both PharmaDoctor and the Encephalitis Society to support each other’s shared objective of raising the awareness of encephalitis and helping travellers receive comprehensive, clinically accurate travel health advice and protection.
“I am delighted that the Encephalitis Society is becoming PharmaDoctor’s official charity partner” commented Graham Thoms, Chief Executive of PharmaDoctor. “Not only will we be donating a significant percentage of our sales to the Society, but we shall also be working hard to raise awareness of encephalitis which affects 500,000 people globally. Patients who go onto the Encephalitis Society website will benefit from a free online travel health risk-assessment and access to PharmaDoctor’s convenient travel clinic network, the largest of its kind in the UK”.
Commenting on the new partnership with PharmaDoctor, Chief Executive Officer at The Encephalitis Society, Dr Ava Easton, says: “We are delighted with our new collaboration with PharmaDoctor. Raising funds and public awareness is the mainstay of the Society’s work. This partnership allows us to take a step further by offering our supporters an innovative and pragmatic way of addressing their travel healthcare needs”.
