Following PharmaDoctor’s announcement earlier this month offering every UK pharmacist a free Weight Loss Service Package, the leading pharmacy service provider has announced that it has launched a further new clinical service package this month for Migraine.
The new private service has the potential to generate participating pharmacies much needed additional revenues of over £50,000 per year.
The PharmaDoctor Migraine Service Package includes:
- Free Migraine eTool – Online consultation platform designed to lead pharmacists step-by-step through a patient migraine consultation.
- Free 12-month PGD (integrated within the Migraine eTool) – Authorising pharmacists to privately dispense a wide range of Triptans and the migraine preventative injection erenumab (Aimovig®) which is not yet available to patients from their GP in England and Wales.
- Free migraine service marketing support – National multi-channel digital marketing campaign to help promote migraine pharmacy services to patients and drive footfall to them via PharmaDoctor’s Patient website.
Commenting on the launch of the free migraine service package, PharmaDoctor CEO, Graham Thoms said:
“We understand that pharmacists’ time is precious, so we have carefully designed the new migraine service to be as efficient as possible for pharmacists to implement and deliver”. He goes on to say “migraine patients are able to start their consultation online via the PharmaDoctor Patient website, then select their nearest pharmacy using the Migraine eTool. When the patient presents in their pharmacy of choice, the pharmacist can easily access the patient’s online consultation record, complete the final steps, then initiate treatment where appropriate”.
As well as guiding pharmacists through a clinically robust migraine consultation and facilitating treatment, the PharmaDoctor Migraine eTool also enables the patient to keep an online migraine diary so that their migraine episodes can be tracked throughout the month.
PharmaDoctor Digital Director, Joaquim Pereira adds:
“The diary function within the Migraine eTool enables the patient to record details of their migraine episodes such as trigger factors, frequency, duration, intensity and impact”.
Mr Pereira goes on to say “the data captured within the patient’s migraine diary is then accessed by pharmacists during follow-up consultations which then enables the pharmacist to measure the impact of the patient’s treatment, whilst enhancing the pharmacist-patient discussion”.
Pharmacists can access the free PharmaDoctor Migraine Service Package via their Pharmacist website.
