If you are already offering a pharmacy flu vaccination service, all you need to do is complete the following 3 simple steps before you are eligible to use the PharmaDoctor Travel Health eTool© and PGD package.
STEP 1 – Confirm you are already offering a pharmacy flu vaccination service.
It is a requirement that you have undergone practical Injection Technique and Basic Life Support training in the last 3 years (as required to participate in the national NHS commissioned pharmacy flu jab service). If you require refresher practical training, PharmaDoctor has negotiated a discount for all eTool© customers with it’s preferred training partner ECG Training Ltd.
STEP 2 – Complete the NEVA online travel health training course.
It is essential that pharmacists using the eTool© have a solid understanding of travel health. It is, therefore, a requirement for all pharmacists to complete the NEVA online travel health training course. NEVA is endorsed by RPS, accredited with 4hrs CPD learning and is available FREE OF CHARGE through the VIP (Valneva in Partnership) travel health support programme. To register for VIP at no cost, visit – vip.valnevauk.com.
STEP 3 – Complete eTool© test consultation scenarios.
To ensure user competency, pharmacists are asked to complete 3 test consultations on the eTool© , thus allowing them to familiarise themselves with the system before conducting their first consultations with real customers.
Note – if you wish to offer vaccination against Yellow Fever, you must complete the NaTHNaC Yellow Fever training courses to become a registered yellow fever vaccination clinic and subsequently upload your NaTHNaC registration details to the eTool© before the system will advise on yellow fever vaccines.
By purchasing the eTool through Pharmacy in Practice you will be supporting us along the way. Once you purchase you will have one to one guidance from the Pharmadoctor team on how to get started. If you have any questions before you buy feel free to get in touch using the form below.
